Pabuk es la primera tormenta tropical que golpea el golfo de Tailandia fuera de la temporada del monzón en casi 30 años. Alcanzó vientos de hasta 75 km/h y olas de casi cinco metros.

Alrededor de unas 7.000 personas se encuentran alojadas en centros de evacuación de la sureña provincia tailandesa de Nakhon Si Thammarat, a donde hoy llegó la tormenta Pabuk, informaron hoy las autoridades provinciales. El número podría aumentar entre los 30.000 y hasta los 80.000 evacuados solo en esta provincia, declaró a Efe Udomporn Kan, secretario del Departamento de Prevención de Desastre y Mitigración de la citada región.
