El pingüino rey, enfrentado al exilio o la muerte por el cambio climático
Frente al cambio climático que les aleja su alimento, hasta el 70% de los pingüinos rey podrían desaparecer hacia fines de siglo, advierte un estudio.
Actualmente, existen 1,6 millones de parejas de pingüinos rey (Aptenodytes patagonicus), que son un poco más pequeños que los emperadores, al medir menos de un metro. Viven sobre todo en las islas subantárticas Crozet, Kerguelen y Príncipe Eduardo, en Tierra del Fuego, así como en las Malvinas.
