El mundo entero se verá afectado por la elección del presidente de la nación más poderosa del planeta. En últimas, el presidente de los Estados Unidos es una suerte de presidente del mundo, nos guste o no. Hoy, más que nunca, los temas y desafíos cruciales que enfrentamos como especie y como planeta se verán afectados -para bien o para mal- por la persona que asuma las riendas de la nación que lidera y determina nuestros destinos.
Los ciudadanos norteamericanos tienen esa gran responsabilidad con la humanidad y con la naturaleza, “la casa común” que habitamos. Y esa decisión corresponsable e interdependiente con el resto de sus congéneres, debe tener en cuenta -y escuchar- el clamor de los demás habitantes de la Tierra.
Por eso proponemos una plataforma mundial para que nos manifestemos todos/as y enviemos un contundente mensaje al pueblo norteamericano. Es obvio que el resultado de esta votación no será vinculante, pero sí expresará una voluntad colectiva y enviará un claro mensaje a la conciencia de quienes sí tienen un poder trascendental de decisión.

The entire world will be affected by the election of the President of the most powerful nation on the planet. Ultimately, the president of the United States is a kind of president of the world, whether we like it or not. Today, more than ever, the crucial issues and challenges we face as a species and as a planet will be affected - for better or worse - by the person who assumes the reins of the nation that leads and determines our destinies.
North American citizens have this great responsibility with Humanity and with Nature, “the common home” that we inhabit. And that co-responsible and interdependent decision with the rest of its fellow human beings must take into account -and listen to- the clamor of the other inhabitants of the Earth.
That is why we propose a global platform for all of us to demonstrate and send a strong message to the North American people. It is obvious that the result of this vote will not be binding but it will express a collective will and send a clear message to the conscience of those who do have transcendental decision-making power.
